This non-political, nonpartisan contest is designed to encourage students to think and write about the privileges and responsibilities of American Citizenship.

The deadline for submitting your essay is FRIDAY, JANUARY 18, 2019. A representative of the Elbert County Republican Women will pick up essays from your school on that day. You may also e- mail your essay to Teri Guthrie at [email protected] or Mary Frangis at [email protected] NO LATER than January 18, 2019. LATE ENTRIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
The Essay Awards Ceremony will be on February 21, 2019 at Legacy Academy in Elizabeth. We invite everyone to attend our Awards Ceremony and enjoy essay readings and refreshments.

(Plus, the $1000.00 Rathbun Scholarship for the High School 1st place winner)
First place winners from High School and Middle School (home school included) contests will be recognized at the Elbert County Republicans Annual Lincoln Day Dinner Saturday March 9th, 2019. The winners and their parents will be the guests of the Elbert County Republican Women and the Elbert County Republican Central Committee at the Lincoln Day Dinner.
